One of the best storyteller and animation studio Pixar just turned 33 we congratulated them there successfully journey so far. Right now Pixar might seem like one of the biggest studios but it has a very humble beginning. So today we are going to look at the journey and some amazing fact about the studio itself. So without any further due let's just drive into it.
Pixar started in 1974 in New York Institute of Technology. As a Computer Graphic Lab to work on computer animation to make a full-length feature film. Soon realized they needed to work in a real film studio in order to reach their goal. So they got there the first project in Lucasfilm and were responsible for some of the greatest graphic from the Star Wars franchise, but of the most memorable work form, the Star Wars was creating Jabba the Hutt.
Later on, Steve Job come on board as an investor and studio started making a feature film they first short film was Luxo Jr. which later on nominated for Academy awards and became studio mascot. Second short film they produce was Tin Toy in which the story was told from the toy's perspective and the concept of the toy being alive come to light. The idea resonated with Disney studio and later on both studio collaborate to make a full-length feature film know as Toy Story.
In 2006 Pixar was brought by Disney for $7.4 billion.
Now when we have a history in place let's drive some deep and find out some fact
In 1993, Disney almost shut down production of Toy Story because they found Woody to be too much of a "sarcastic jerk. Within 3 Week John Lasseter with his small team redid the story and represent it to Disney and they give green light to the project.
2.Set of Rules to make a great story:
When Pixar first approach Tom Hanks for Woody voiceover. He asked them "You're not going to make me sing are you". To make great story Pixar keep some restriction on themselves. No Song, No"I want" moment", No happy village, No love story.
The story ideas for A Bug's Life, Monster's Inc., Finding Nemo, and WALL-E all came from one lunch meeting between key Pixar creatives at a diner called Hidden City Cafe. There is a tribute to Hidden City in Monster's Inc.
Convincing the public that rats make a great pet is no easy task, Pixar was able to do just that 2007's Ratatouille. According to the British pet chain Pets at Home, their rat sales shot up by 50 % following the film’s release. Hopefully, the pet owners knew better than to let their rats near the cooking supplies.
Copies of the medical school text Gray’s Anatomy were given to the digital sculptors to help them figure out how the human body moves. Live action footage of Pixar animators walking was also used.
Who would’ve thought a Peter Dinklage-led indie movie would’ve inspired one of Pixar’s most celebrated films? But that is exactly what happened, with Pixar 2009 movie Up. Pete Docter said "We looked at The Station Agent, a great, simple, character-based story of a guy who’s much like Carl, who comes out of his shell. Casablanca is a similar kind of story ... Movies that had a beautiful simplicity to them and a focus on character.”
The “voice” of WALL·E is legendary sound designer Ben Burtt. Burtt is best known for his work on Star Wars for one of the most beloved droid R2-D2.

In order to create an authentic out-of-breath voice for Dash, Bird(Director) made actor Spencer Fox (who voiced Dash) run laps around the studio.
Pixar is one of the most detailed oriented studios and it has several of its easter eggs and cross-references hidden across their entire movies franchises. So not long ago people started to discuss and man name Jon Negroni come up with the theory that every Pixar movie is taking place in the same universe across the different timeline and all movies are telling one big story
